Research Associate

We are seeking a meticulous, organized and confident Research Associate who will focus on  building relationships with, researching and updating information on APAC (ex Greater China and Japan)-based fund managers.

As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for understanding and incorporating data regarding alternative investments through various sources into our online CRM database in an accurate and concise manner. You will also work with Preqin’s clients to provide relevant data and analysis on an ad-hoc basis. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Updating online databases with key financial information, statistics and analysis on which our clients depend on.
• Maintaining relationships with fund managers via telephone and email communication.
• Conducting web-based research for further information of fund managers.
• Communicating and coordinating with the wider team to ensure profiles are updated accurately and in a timely manner, and to convey issues and solutions.
• Using computer-based business applications, including Microsoft Excel, to analyse large data sets and to control for quality and accuracy.
• Candidates may be required to write blogs and research reports occasionally, perform analysis and generate reports for clients on an ad-hoc basis.
• Completing other tasks as/when required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 1+ years experience in finance/alternative assets preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree with finance related background is an added advantage
• Knowledge of global accounting principles is a plus
• Must be fluent in English and proficiency in other South East Asian language is a plus
• Must have strong communications skills to build relationships with high-level executives
• Good analytical skills with willingness to take initiatives
